"My Entire Life Is An Open Book" -Dr. Kai

THEY TELL ME I TRAVEL A LOT - I get off the block every weekend. The block got me 16yrs of prison. So, I see the results of that. I try to leave the country 2-3 times per year. I've spent 16yrs in prison and I've been homeless. One day, I made the decision to stop giving a damn about what people had to say about me and started enjoying the one life that GOD gave me. 

STRICTLY BUSINESS - Anyone that knows me, knows that I am 1,000% about my business. My vision board has made former friends look at me and say "Kai, you buggin. No way in the world all of that is happening." The key words in that sentence? Former Friends. I have a saying: "Everyone loves a success. No one loves a success in the making. Laugh at me now, work for me later."

A VOICE. A BELIEF. A RESPONSIBILITY - When I was a kid; maybe 8, my grandmother said: "Little boy, sit down. Let me talk to you. Kai, you are one of the chosen. I don't know why, but GOD chose YOU to be a leader. People are going to follow you. It's up to you where you lead them. In my young ignorance, I've probably led a lot of people astray. The Kai Smith Show/PodCast is a platform where I use my voice and what I have today to make things a little more transparent for people. 

DR. KAI THE ACTIVIST - "I am involved in a lot. I own a few things. I have quite a few investments. I have other projects that I'm growing. I spent the first 30 yrs of my life involved with (dumb) shit that got me 16 yrs in prison. I've spent the last 20 yrs rebuilding. While I am not the marching type; following me on Twitter gives you the opportunity to see how I am making a difference in the lives of children of color NATIONWIDE!

WORK HARD, PLAY HARD - I am  so not the 'Put-My-Business-In-The-Street' type. Facebook is the place that I can go to quietly (from the background) stay in tune with what's going on with family and people from my past. Everyone equally has 365 days, broken down into 24 hour windows. 25 yrs ago I made a promise to not waste a single hour of mine. It's incredibly humbling to see the fruits of that promise 25 yrs later.  - Ps. And then the guy just jumped out of the plane!

KIDS SAY THE DARNEST THINGS - Every year on Dr. Seuss Day I spend the morning reading books to Pre-K and kindergarten kids around the city. This one day, in this one school, the teacher introduces me: "Boys and girls, our reader for the day is Dr. Kai Smith" This one kid says: "Doctor? My dad is a doctor. I never saw a doctor that looks like you. You're not dressed like a doctor." I read the book, then spent a terrifying extra 20 min under bright lights being interrogated by a bunch of 7yr olds. Lol.
